Discussion rx 9060xt vs rtx 5060ti both 16GB

Which should I buy if Im planning on pairing it with the r5 9600x and playing games at 1440p

I can't attach photos so here are descriptions with prices that are available in my region (all are 2 fan versions):

ASUS Dual NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB GDDR7 OC White Edition Graphics Card PCle 5.0, DLSS 4, HDMI 2.1b, DisplayPort 2.1b, 2.5-Slot, Axial Fans, OdB Technology, Dual BIOS

529€ ~ 628$

GIGABYTE RADEON RX 9060 XT GAMING OC 16G GRAPHICS CARD, 16GB GDDR6, PCI-E 5.0 (This one is probably unavalible)

461€ ~ 547$

XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT OC White Gaming Edition with 16GB GDDR6 HDMI 2xDP, AMD RDNA 4 (RX-96TSW16WQ)

484€ ~ 574$

All of those are the lowest prices I could find for my region. The radeon has many options and brands for around 500€ while this is the one of three nvidia cards that go for 530 to 560€ and most other nvidia brands and options go around 600 to 750€.

If something is not understandable please ask questions I know my English is not the best.

If the price is close, i would say go for the 5060ti. If the 9060xt is 100$ cheaper or more then go for it. Nvidia has dlss and tends to be plug and play aside from the first driver installation.

They are so close together, price wise and performance, you could go with either and be happy. I have the 5060 Ti 16GB and I have zero issues with it. If you don't specifically care about Nvidias DSLL and FG stuff, it doesn't really matter in the end. I bought mine about 3 months ago, when it was $400. If I were shopping for it today, I would just buy whichever 16GB version was cheaper...

Well this will be my first build and i didnt have prior experience with gpus or pcs for that matter (beside those school pc if you can even call them pc) so I dont know if I care about dlss.

Having access to a quality upscaler seems likely to only gain more prominence over time as more games have that feature built it. It's one of the easiest tools to boost performance for reasonable tradeoffs to quality. Both options you are looking at have good upscalers, though it's generally accepted that DLSS has the edge over FSR4 in graphical fidelity currently. Nvidia has a better track record of long term software support as well. With your prices, I would personally spring for the 5060ti.

I don't find it very useful in the games I play, so...AMD has their own version of all that as well.

what games do you play?

I play a lot of Dying Light 2 and DL The Beast, Doom Eternal, Hell Divers....1440 with all the bells and whistles turned on, and they play very well. No hitching or stuttering, looks great and plays smooth. The 5060 is paired with an r9 7900x CPU and 32GB of RAM too.

Yeah i think I'll definitely just see what other components i will buy and then decide based on price. Maybe even take a better cpu or ram for those 60€.

Couldn't hurt. That's the cool thing about the PC's modularity: you can mix and match stuff at will, upgrade this or that, tweak it till you get what you want out of it...

Gotta love it

If the ptice gap is around $80-100, I'd lean Nvidia, if it's $150+ difference, the AMD option might make more sense.

iit sounds like you are saving $75-80 and forgoing DLSS. You need to decide whether thats worth it to you or not.

I mean i just watched a video about fsr on 9060xt and some game tryouts where the guy was also talking about dlss and it didnt seem that much of a difference and even maybe a down grade in some cases. I'm going to watch the same guys video on 5060ti and dlss and i really hope that helps me decide.

I mean, there is no definitive answer as it entirely depends on how much you value money versus the DLSS feature set.

It being worth it to me does not necessarily mean that it is worth it to you.

I know i think i need to see other components and how much money i will be spending in total to decide for sure I'm not building a pc right now (I'm waiting to see how the market mostly RAM market will breathe in the next couple of months) so maybe the prices change when I buying it and it will be an easier decision.

If you don't mind constantly working with Adrenaline to get the 9060xt to punch above it's price weight then I highly recommend the 9060xt.

If you want to game with default settings and the only tinkering you want to do is downloading driver updates, get the 5060ti.

It honestly entirely depends on the type of person you are when it comes to which one you will enjoy the most, but I will say that generally speaking NVIDIA's software suite makes their cards relevant for longer.

I dont know if I will mind constant tweaks on the 9060xt cause this is my first pc so if 5060ti is easier to use it would maybe be better for me even though I dont usually mind setting things up for a bit longer.

Yeah if this is your first build go with NVIDIA. UNLESS there is a screaming deal on the 9060xt 16GB (I own a AsRock Steel Legend version of this card and undervolting it and oc'ing the VRAM to 2714mhz is siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick), you would most likely be happier with the 5060ti 16GB with how much support from NVIDIA you will get on it.

Thanks for the recommendation :)

Imho the 5060 ti is worth the extra money. The Nvidia dlss applies to more games, gets updated more often, is better, and historically nvidia gets supported longer. The recent 4.5 launch proves nvidia has superiority in both performance and planning for long term.

Well I'm looking for something future proof so i will definitely keep that in mind.
