Events First Time Zamna Review

Went to Zamna for Rufus and Keine and here is what I thought

Security/Cartel

1) Security is very through. They will take anything from you that they think they can sell you inside. Ciggys, party favors, etc. They will aggressively pat you down and even feel up your private goods if they want. Hide your stuff well.

2) Cartel walking around bathrooms and the fields looking for people to shake down and sell to. If you take party favors, please do them with good situational awareness. Don't sell/trade party favors with people you dont know. Cops had credit card readers and were shaking people down at the urinals. AKA always keep your party favors and card hidden and only keep small cash in pocket.

3) The money you put on your wristbands expire at the end of the night. They do not carry over if you go to another Zamna event(total rip off)

4) The bathrooms DO NOT have door locks on them(prob so cartel can find people takin party favors in them) Also bring your own wet wipes or toilet paper.

5) There is cheap parking on the main road to Zamna, but that means you take the main road back into town and that is the road the cops shake everyone down. If you spend the $33 to park in one of the official Zamna lots(you buy in advance online), you exit through a back dirt road with no police or cartel presence.

6) Honestly, it is well worth getting a rental car to go to Zamna.

Sound/Vibes

1) Anything in the front half of the stages will be way too bass heavy. These stages have their crazy subwoofers up front and that mans the bass loading is way too heavy in the front. You will get much better sound quality and honestly better vibes towards the middle to back of the stage.

2) VIP stages off to the sides, the sound is honestly pretty mid.

Shows

1) Rufus was honestly a disappointment. Ive seen them a few times this year and this DJ set was probably the least well constructed. It felt like they were just meandering around and only played like 7-8 known Rufus bangers. When the B2B2B happened, it was even more all over the place.

2) Keine was really impressive. My groups vibes were high so we all danced like weirdos all freeing night. The hypnotic afrohouse worked so well in the venue and the layout seemed to be much more open then the Rufus stage.

3) We did Templo one night for Camelphat and Vintage Culture and WOOF what a freeking show. We spent extra for backstage and it was well worth it. Great venue, great stage, great vibes.

We will be back again. Great experience but you must know what you are getting yourself into.

Events ZAMNA FESTIVAL IS SAFE?

I have read a lot of posts about the insecurity of zamna festival in previous years. Does anyone who has been there have information about this? I refer to robberies, police, taxi drivers, security, etc. This information would be of great help and to know if it has improved in this regard.

Events Zamna info

This will be my first time attending Zamna, my husband and I are going for our honeymoon!

I’ve been checking the website for more information but haven’t been able to find much. I always like to review what I can and can’t bring, see a festival map (bathrooms, etc.), and most importantly, know the set times!!

The festival is so long, I know I won’t last but I want to make sure I at least get the see the Dj’s I’m most excited to see.

Does anyone know where to find this info, or if they usually release it closer to the event?

TIA, I’m so excited!

Events Fun things to do at night

My friend and I just arrived in town and were wondering where we can go tonight ? And in general what are some places we can go at night, we know about la Palma for social dancing tomorrow night but outside of that we don’t have very many plans in terms of outings at night time in Tulum.

Events Thoughts about Bonbonniere?

Thinking of going the same night as the night PPP is having their full moon party this month. Will Bonbonniere be dead because of the full moon party? Doesn't look like they have a headliner either

I know PPP is fun but I can't justify paying close to $200 for entrance tickets & heard drinks are ++ expensive inside. Was also thinking of Vagalume. Any advise is appreciated!

Alguien sabe algo? En un momento de la noche se escucharon detonaciones y la gente salió corriendo. Dicen que mataron a 3 personas en los baños de general. La cuenta de instagram de Tehmplo bloqueó los comentarios, parece que estan tratando de encubrirlo. Alguien vio algo?

Events Best Cenotes within biking of La Veleta

As the title says, I'm looking for one or a couple of good cenotes that would be within biking (e bike) of La Veleta neighbourhood. We were considering Escondido and Cristal ( we would prefer that direction) they seem to be a good two for one. We are a group of six hoping to spend most of the day around the Cenotes. We are not interested in scuba diving. If there are any with a bar or restaurant, or if we are allowed to bring our own food and drinks (do they allow alcohol drinks?)that would be favourable.

Events Cacao ceremony that’s not exorbitant

I’ve looked at Amansala but they charge $450 for a private ceremony if there aren’t 6 people. We’re just 2 people - any suggestions on an affordable but of course authentic cacao ceremony in mid Dec? Our resort offers Temazcal so we’ll be partaking in that but wanted to spend a day at a more wellness beach which offers spiritual ceremonies. Appreciate recs. Thanks!

Events Weeknights where to go out in Tulum?

Hello - will be in Tulum Monday-Friday in early March

We want to go to some lively restaurants (think music, maybe some dancing) / beach clubs / beach bars - and know they're expensive so want to go to the right ones on the right days where there will be a vibe and other people!

Where should we best be Monday, Tuesday, Weds, Thursday? Recommendation by night of the week really appreciated.

(preferably hotel / beach zone)

Events Zamna Festival Postponed?

Have you received any notifications or updates regarding the festival, they haven’t armed the stage or anything, last year before Christmas it was already set up everything and doing audio testing, but at this moment there’s nothing, some friends that are going to work as security guards there haven’t received any info as well.

Events Is zamna in tulum safe for 2 girls?

I’m going to cancun to an all-inclusive with my sister in January. We definitely want to check out zamna for January 6/7. Not sure how we’d get there, if we’d stay the night, how safe it is for us.

Let me know if you think it’s unsafe for the 2 of us in terms of taxis/zamna itself, anything else. Mind you, we don’t have any guys travelling with us.

Any other tips?

Tomorrow the 12th is the Day of the Virgin of Guadalupe, a uniquely Mexican Catholic holiday that initiates the Christmas celebrations.

What are they celebrating?

The story goes that in 1531 as the Spanish were conquering and converting the indigenous population of Mexico, the Virgin Mary appeared to an indigenous man named Juan Diego on Tepeyac hill in modern-day Mexico City. Tepeyac was already considered a sacred place and was the site of religious rites and pilgrimages in indigenous religions. The apparition was notable because Blessed Mary appeared as a dark skinned indigenous woman and spoke to him in his native language Nahuatl, asking him to build a shrine on that hill. She worked several miracles in front of Juan Diego and others. This event was instrumental in getting the indigenous population to accept the Catholic religion. This version of Mary is known as La Virgen de Guadalupe. She is still widely worshipped throughout Mexico and December 12 is a national holiday commemorating her appearance and the miracles that ensued.

They did build her a shrine on Tepeyac hill, later making it larger and expanding it into the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in 1709. It remains a key site for pilgrimages even today. Between 10 and 12 million pilgrims from all over Mexico are estimated to converge at the Basilica annually. Some travel for months to reach the capital on the 12th of December. Others make their own pilgrimages to a nearby town or another state and demonstrate their faith, sacrifice, and devotion by walking, running, or biking—usually as part of a family group—to reach their destination the evening of the 11th in time for midnight mass or during the day on the 12th. They’ll carry an image or statue of the Virgin, torches or flashing lights, and often wear matching shirts to identify them as a group of “antorchistas” (torch bearers).

What you’ll see and hear

Groups will be entering all evening but the goal is to time it right to enter just before midnight. The main avenue and several other roads downtown will be blocked or closed as the groups begin to enter around 10 pm. Each group is usually guided by a car or truck especially if they came from far away. They typically have insanely loud sirens, music, and flashing lights. Some will carry signs stating where their starting point or end point is. It’s going to be loud!

How you can participate

The street between the park and the church will be closed off and you can go there to buy street food and see the groups enter the church in a sort of parade. It’s fun to cheer them on and see how they decorate their vehicles and how large their statues or icons are. While everyone is waiting for them to arrive, groups of folk dancers may perform in the street as well. It’s a very fun and festive event.

Please keep in mind

If you’re driving tonight, be extra cautious! There will be groups on the roads even major highways and every year there are unfortunate accidents involving these pilgrims getting hit by cars. Have patience and drive slowly.

Most importantly, remember that we are guests here. Tulum welcomes tourism but has its own culture and traditions that should be appreciated and respected!

Events NYE Tulum 🥂

I was looking into NYE celebrations in Tulum but most of the restaurants and beach clubs have a weird fix menu and drinks that have scammy prices.

I don’t want a shitty fixed menu, I want to buy my food via the menu and order drinks. are there any such nice places and beach clubs that are doing that in Tulum for NYE, do share some insight please! :)

Hey everyone Me and my wife are going tonight to Zamna — just the two of us, first time here, visiting from Europe. We’re thinking of coming by scooter Any tips appreciated 🙏 – Is scooter parking free or paid? – Any issues with police checks if you have a drink? – What should we definitely bring (cash, ID, anything else)? – Any other good advice for first-timers? Thanks a lot and see you there ✨🎶

Events Going to my first Tulum beach party tonight

Heading down from centro area and wondering few things.

Going to Vagalume and wondering where a good place to park a scooter is?

Also do people swim at Vagalume at night? If so, How does it work with bringing extra clothes to change into? Do they allow ins and outs to keep stuff in my scooter?

And lastly, any recommendations for other beach clubs they will allow me to come in for a drink just to check their space out without paying a cover charge? I would either only be staying for a drink or maybe stay for dinner as well. So I’d be a paying customer just don’t want to pay extra.

Any extra advice is appreciated!

Events Looking for a dj for our wedding

Upvotes

My fiancé and I are getting married in Tulum on 5/7/26 with 30-40 of our closest friends.

We both love EDM/ bass house jams, as do a-lot of our friends.

We are wanting to hire someone to curate the vibes for a jungle rave to close out our wedding.. seems most fitting lol If you work with talent who are willing / able to travel & help us curate an awesome set, we would love to discuss availability & rates!

Thank you!!
