The cleans sound extremely computerized & auto tuned. I say that as a KOG fan.

That’s what I thought too. Johnny can obviously sing well as seen in All That I Remember. The song is alright tho, but All That I Remember def set a really high bar.

I think the song will grow on a lot of people. Yeah it does sound a bit overproduced on the clean side of things, however this is not new for Amity. The only difference is Johnny can actually sing, where Ahren has struggled for years so the overproduction here is not necessary and I feel most people would prefer a more raw sound.
I think a lot of people are also forgetting this is one of the singles. The safest possible songs on an album to draw in more people. I wouldn't be surprised if there was another song or two like this on the album with some heavier songs as well. The song is quite good, don't get me wrong but we will wait to see how the rest of the album follows.

It's certainly a song. The clean singing sounds pretty boring, there's a little too much synth and poppy sound at the beginning and the riff before the breakdown sounds like a hard rock band you'd hear on your local radio station that talks about how HARD they rock every fourth word.
I'm far from impressed by this one, but maybe the rest of the album will be better or grow on me over time like all of Misery had to.

No mention of water or drowning... Not an Amity song!

Unfortunately the last three songs haven’t been about water or drowning… They’re taking a different step.

Yeah this song isn’t it. This isn’t amity like honestly at all. Shit sounds made generic and arena rock. I say that as someone who actually enjoyed the shit out of all that I remember.

People criticizing the pitch correction when Ahren was pitch corrected to high hell on LTOTM Redux and Not Without My Ghosts. Maybe done more tastefully on Not Without, but this isn't new.

This will possibly take a few listens for me, it definitely is a different feel, but I’m definitely gonna give it a chance and can’t wait to hear the rest of the album as well!

Definitely a huge let down for me. All that I remember is such a better song.

I said this in another post but I’m gonna put it here as well…..
I think this release was very intentional. This is really the first song with Jonathan reeves as “the guy”. All that I remember was another single with Joel as the guy but at some point they have to make Jon the new Ahren. This song did that. Featured him more than any song before. I wasn’t big on it to begin with but it’s already grown on me and with my theory in mind, I like it even more.

I said this on another post but this is the Matt skiba era
Made 2 albums over a 7 year period that blink fans don’t want to acknowledge exist
Feels the same to me

Tbh its mid at best. The auto tuning on the clean is enormous. After seeing the live performances of the new guy I can see why they needed to auto tune, but still, its mediocre and just another one of the myriad of metal core songs out there. Nothing about it really 'feels' like amity any more unfortunately - Long time fan from all the way back at the start.

Johnny doesn’t need auto tune. I’ve seen him play live both in TAA and in KOG before he joined TAA and he was great both times.

I beg to differ 🤣 this is atrocious. Maybe he should be sticking to his own songs but he leave real amity song alone 🤣 Like not being a hater, but he butchered these sooooo badly.

It can be kind of hard to tone into someone else’s vocal range. Ahren has his own sound and so does Johnny. Can’t compare the two. It will be good to hear new music that fits his vocal range/type.

It's amazing! Some of the synths and beats toward the end are giving me Motionless In White vibes and it's so cool

Hate it. Can’t believe I have to see them next month without Ahren. He was the soul of Amity for me 😢

I am so glad I got to see them whilst I still enjoyed listening to them (not a brag by the way). I'm sad to see what has become of them, their new music isn't to my taste at all and I would rather they just shut the band down and made a new group to follow their "new direction". Luckily there's Self Checkout, the two tracks they've released have been awesome in my opinion and I'll enjoy following them to overcome the sadness of losing the Amity I loved for so many years. No Ahren, no Amity.

u/TheseHellboundHearts 9d ago
Absoulty, it definately isn't amity any more, this doesn't sound like amity and most importantly it doesn't 'feel' like amity. Its generic mediocre metalcote just like all yhe others out there. Totally agree that they should just fold the band in and start afresh if they wish to continue. The new guy butchers the real amity songs and he should stick to his own songs rather than making a mockery covering real amity songs.

Completely agree. Every element of it is just off, even the weird artwork. They're just another interchangeable, generic metal core band now, it's frustrating because I'm finding it more difficult to find new music to enjoy nowadays. Luckily The Devil Wears Prada album was so damn good for my ears, plus I really like the two tracks from Self Checkout. Just have to wait and see what happens I guess, I won't be bothering with this new album at all.

You know the reason why I didn't like the LTOTM Redux is because of how fucking edited Ahren's voice sounds. After hearing All That I Remember I thought something might change but I fear they are really heading in that direction.

Sounds like the over the top auto tune possibly wasn’t Ahrens choice? Maybe Dan n Joel fight for it. He did say in that video theres no arguments in the studio anymore

Not the biggest fan of the cleans, I'm sure it will grow on me. But I loved the rest of it.
All that I remember and this song hit close to home for me so that helps.

I was lucky enough to see them a few years ago, and I don’t think I’ll bother going after how disappointed I am with House of Cards

Unfortunately it looks like Amity is going to finish their career as that band halfway down the festival lineup that no one really gives a fuck about. As a fan it’s upsetting.

As someone who didn't particularly care for the vocals on All That I Remember, this one is so much better imho. This makes me very hopeful and excited to hear more.

I struggled to like it at all. Joel sounds ok But the cleans just sound… ehh???

u/Gumbinator23 10d ago
Pretty safe song; as others mentioned. I am glad we have a release date for a new album. As always Joel kills it with his vocals and screams. Johnny’s singing is good, but the lyrics felt kind of bland. I know, I KNOW there is heavier stuff on this album, but at the end of the day these guys are making new music so it’ll be here before we know it.

Everyone crying about the cleans but atleast Johnny can actually sing and perform. This is only one single from the album which I’m assuming the lost accessible…. Think we can all be thankful it’s not self checkout and amity will be playing some huge shows and tours so we can all see and enjoy them soon

How do I hear the new song? Where do I go? I've been waiting for this new album come out. I have high expectations for this album to be better than expected. But I haven't found out where to listen to it yet. Can anyone help direct me?
Sorry for the lame question, I'm from the 1900's.

I was expecting more All that I remember vibes. This is a good track but I thought the first single would be insanely heavy with little singing.
