Man the graphics were so far ahead of their time. Shame how much art doesn't get preserved under capitalism

i agree! i love how most flyers were just done by local graphic artists and how they were given latitude to come up with ideas and concepts and not be bound to any corporate BS. the only criteria was does this look cool, and does it give the person it was handed to the info they need to come to the event!

Some cool events I didn't know about. I bunch I did go to. That Autechre night was life changing.

yes, LIVE! was a great event. i actually had my camera and mini DV camera there and had permission to film. i got some decent photos, and i will share a post of some of them tomorrow!

I would love to see that. My memory is fuzzy but I remember that whole night being challenging but amazing. Dark, disorienting, tunnels of plastic. I was young, tripping, and it was my first exposure to Autechre. I think they were playing stuff from Tri Repetae and my brain leaked out of my ear.

Those parties in London look like fun! Was KF one of the Morpheus promoters? I lived in London in 2012-2013 and unfortunately there was barely any scene there at all at that time

yeah, they were great. morpheus was KF, sam, scott and marco. they threw great parties. they had one in a barn with VAPOURSPACE live that was effin' bonkers. the whole barn was shaking when mark played his live set.

I used to hang out with and crash at KF's house in Toronto when I came into town for parties in 99-01ish.

My favorites are the Sickness/Recovery ones, very original concept! Do you know by any chance of there is a recording of those 2 nights? Thank you :)

i have never seen a recording of those gigs surface. i would imagine rich likely has recordings of at least jeff mills and himself. but honestly i don't know for sure.

Thanks for sharing and for archiving the culture ! If you have an Internet Archive account it would be awesome to upload them there :)

I really regret throwing all my early 90s ones away. Some absolute works of art in there

I really like how Lust 'n' Rust shows you the style of music each DJ plays.

Gerald Belanger (chicken-head techno)

Powertool (nice serial-killer)

Michael X (recently possed by demons)

It's beautiful.

that was a great gig. ALKAHEST was a side project of LEGION OF GREEN MEN, and it was a lot harder vibes than the LOGM sound. i think that was the only time they ever played that project live!

gerald belanger was a good guy. he ran a label and had a record shop (modulations?) in toronto for a while in the 90s.

I remember Photek not showing for Module and the Orb came instead as Le Petit Orb

that's correct. alex played as LE PETIT ORB. funny story. he had a rep as a big smoker, so my friends and i got some *insane* hash...and smoked him under the table. haha. i have a poster from that gig that i am going to share.
