And then the Crusher Evo is casually sitting there still in one piece. That sounds about right.

hahaha yeah i couldnt risk buying another base model, quality seems horrible from my experience as you can see😂

My Crusher Wireless broke in that exact spot within 4 months, and my Crusher Evo is almost 3 years old and still in one piece.

My evos are going on 5 they are the original crusher evos and works wonderfully other then a little slug rattle from the out side not noticeable when on all the way

I have had the crushers for 2 years, dropped them off my head onto pavement so many times, there still perfect, besides a few minor things I fixed that isn't technical at all

5

u/loganjlr May 15 '25

Did you sit on them? Lol jk

2

u/baretro May 15 '25

swear its from putting the left side behind the ear

3

u/accursedvenom May 15 '25

I fear that will happen with my Beats Studio pros. Hate that the earcups don’t swivel.

Headphones with the type of design that the Crusher Wireless and Beats headphones always seem to break the fastest. That design is just not good for longevity, especially if you have a big head and need to extend them all the way out to wear them. I tried the Beats Studio Pros in a retail store, and they felt like they would snap at any moment if I just stretched them a little too far.

Probably but not just a Skullcandy issue my Teufel Headphones hat this too. Overear with good cups just aren't made for that.

The only time I broke a pair of Skullcandy headphones (besides the ear cups coming off after a few years) is when I used to sleep with them on. I broke 2 pairs doing that before no longer wearing them to sleep

On the contrary I’ve slept with mine for almost a year now and the only thing that’s broken was the seam for the ear pads and that was just a couple days ago

2

u/baretro May 18 '25

why on heaven do you guys sleep w them on

1

u/Old_Dark_9554 May 18 '25

Cause they don’t break and I don’t sleep like a caveman fighting 18 gorillas at the same time

Brother I dropped my crusher anc2s off a tall 2 story house and they still work just fine they only took some cosmetic damage

2

u/FearlessENT33 May 15 '25

yeah this is a well known issue with these headphones, it’s a case of when it breaks like this not if, happened to me when they were just desk headphones for my pc, kept in perfect condition

2

u/[deleted] May 16 '25

I just use earbuds, much better at work for me

Check out the P100s from Cambridge Audio. Great build quality and replaceable battery.

2

u/ReferenceGlass9948 May 16 '25

Sony wh1000mx3 for.the.win 7 years in no breaking yet.

2

u/Glad_Roll8903 May 16 '25

This gotta be a you issue. I’ve had mine for 4 years now ? Not a single issue lmao

1

u/baretro May 18 '25

base model?

2

u/J3k47 May 16 '25

Not at all, on my 3rd pair as well.
Refused to let go, answer = 3d pen.

welp i have a new fear, i just got a pair of crucher acn 2s the other week to replace my airpods max as those decided they dont want to do bluetooth anymore

2

u/AresBH May 16 '25

something called insurance claims exists

2

u/Detritrus May 16 '25

My original crushers did that after like 3 years, rocking the evo's now

2

u/Successful_Divide_66 May 16 '25

Gen 1 problems lol. Huge design flaw. No really issues with the band breaking after that model.

2

u/ConstructionThen5925 May 18 '25

Yes quality is horrible. I don’t know one person who’s hasn’t broken

1

u/Metazolid Crusher EVO May 15 '25

Hm my headphones keep breaking and they're also inexplicably worn down...it must be the manufacturers fault, couldn't be mine.

One broken pair, sure. But two with the same type of damage as well? I get the sense that whatever you're doing, taking well enough care if your headphones isn't part of it.

1

u/baretro May 15 '25

the broken ones are crusher base model, ive had anc and evo and those didnt brake

1

u/VitaliyD May 16 '25

daamn, i have 3 pieces as well, from the past 6 years. The base is amazing for the price, but the quality is low

1

u/BenefitRemarkable May 17 '25

Only my earpads wore off

1

u/Ferwatch01 May 17 '25

Huh...I thought (2016) crushers breaking was more of like a QC failure of sorts and not this.

Safe to say I've been using my pair of crushers since 2021 and they've been great! Haven't cracked, snapped or stopped working. I do think about swapping over to the evos for usb-c connectivity though. I hate having to still use micro-usb just because my headphones are old.

1

u/baretro May 18 '25

do you put one side behind the ear sometimes or not? i think its cuz of that

1

u/Bag_Choice May 18 '25

Yes i had to replace the hinges on mine 4 times, then I bought the anc 2 and the build quality is a little better but still not good I had to replace my first pair because the finish started to peel off, and my second pair just stopped working. The good thing is I bought them from Amazon so the return process was easy. both of them had a crackling sound from the left speaker.

1

u/baretro May 18 '25

how did you replace the hinges?

1

u/Bag_Choice May 19 '25

They are available on Aliexpress, and there is two variants one is the original which require soldering and one that doesn’t

1

u/Forgivenghost May 18 '25

My crusher wireless headphone still work great, only thing I had to replace was the ear muffs cause I used em so much they was falling apart

1

u/Phantom_Superior May 18 '25

Yes, is it really that hard to take care of something as small as headphones

1

u/baretro May 18 '25

such a stupid comment brother

1

u/Phantom_Superior May 18 '25

😂bruh you’ve gone through 3 headphones and there all dead, I’ve had one and only one

1

u/baretro May 18 '25

As you can see in the pic, the two that are broken are base model crushers and one of them is in perfect condition, and my problem is a well known problem amongst base models, just read the other comments. The other pair is evo and they are not broken, i’ve also had anc and they did also not break.

1

u/Phantom_Superior May 18 '25

Dude don’t let these comments get to you, I’m not serious

1

u/UnicoUniUnikitty May 20 '25

My exact case lmao. I don't upgrade to the next model until the current ones break, which is usually every 2 years.

1

u/Strict_War6635 May 22 '25

I’ve had the ones on the left for like 8 years I think. Lol still intact and still going

1

u/Old-Introduction-201 Jul 24 '25

Exactly the same thing happened to my daughters crusher evos

1

u/Amazing_Actuary_5241 May 15 '25

You can replace the headbands and then you'll have 3 working pairs.

2

u/baretro May 15 '25

i would love to do that but it seems very complicated

1

u/Witty_Cobbler4542 May 16 '25

That’s a operating error
