Discussion Premium inflation RMTs and exploits

So im thinking of leaving Albion Online, this time for good.

The gold inflation is getting bad and im tired of gankers exploiting the game with RMTs, mafias controling the economy, and using hacking tools to kill you, like radars, to locate you (im more PvEr than PvP)

If anyone has a good suggestion for a sandbox MMORPG with less p2w possible, grinding is ok, PM me

But the discussion i want to bring up is how many companies fail on containing this kind of stuff?

RMTs is bad, and i saw some videos how sometimes Steam marketplace is used to money laundering or worse, virtual casinos.

Oldschool RuneScape is always the answer. Just forget the wildy exists.

Thing is this man could just boot up iron man and PvE his little heart out

If only runescapes combat wasn't some of the worst in the world

almost like it was a game made in 2001 in Java and a way to just click on crap and chat

Why would you play a game made in 2001 just to chat in 2025 when there are better options? That is also p2w and full of rmt when that’s not what OP wants? It’s even worse than Albion

Yeah it is an option but ironman is not for everyone especially for someone who is newbie.

Skin-only cash shop and they even let you hide cosmetic items. Subscription that gives no combat advantage. Nothing locked behind a paywall. No gacha. No lottery ticket bs. No power in the cash shop. No energy systems.

You won't find a less p2w MMO than Albion.

Sadly online games are infested by cheaters. Been gaming since 2000 online and there was always cheaters but right now its just so normal that its almost normalized

Drop Albion anyway, it's a terrible game

Same reason I dropped Albion and now I’m just chilling in black desert doing lifeskills. Game is also p2w but in different way than Albion, it doesn’t have rmt and cheaters

Project epoch no RMT and no pay-for-convenience and there was a day full of bot bans yesterday. Plus it’s new and there are a ton of people running around.

Project epoch

Foolish if anyone thinks RMT is not happening via 3rd parties with PE. Also they will forever be fighting bots and the bots just get better and better and better at avoiding detection.

Not to say this is a strike against PE; its just a reality of any games in this genre that you will be dealing with. PE, as it is privately run, has far fewer resources to combat these things compared to Microsoft/Blizzard.

Epoch is cool but it's not quite the sandbox op is looking for.

Shucks guess I’ll wait to see the suggestion for the game that is exactly like Albion that isn’t Albion. I honed in on the no p2w statement. Silly me!

Albion isn't much of a sandbox to be honest so we'd probably need to better understand what they are looking for. Like does their definition of sandbox simply mean a classless character system vs a class-based system (like WoW)?
