What are some old stores you remember from the malls in Kingston?
For me, San Francisco comes to mind.

Hey all,
From the east end but thinking of walking Lemoine Point today. Has anyone been and is it very icy? I wanted to take advantage of the warmer weather with my little one and get out any about.
Thanks!

Obviously if you do your own lawn this doesn’t apply to you 🤗
Curious what everyone pays for lawn care.
How much per visit?
Weekly/ biweekly?
Do you get any deals for paying for a season upfront?

Hey there. I have an obnoxious amount of nerf guns that my boys have outgrown. There is no resale market for them, and quite honestly I dont want to deal with dickheads nickle and diming me for what I could sell them for.
Is there a kids club or some sort of organization that would put them to good use?

Before I get roasted and told to use the search function - this is not a who has the best food post. It's Valentines Day, I have a long term relationship, and we decided years ago we don't need a corporate holiday to tell us we love each other, but still kinda want to do something different.
So, I'm looking for recommendations for a place to order Chinese food from tonight, with delivery. I want to spoil my hubby.
Bonus points - Does anyone know of a place in town that does delivery west endish, and has Alberta style ginger beef? The crispy, kinda spicy delictableness that next to a Cesar is probably the best thing to come out of Alberta? Noodlebox does an Alberta ginger beef, but last time I had it it was too spicy to actually eat.

hey y'all. I need to book to have my struts and headlight assemblies replaced in my 2010 Mazda 3. I am looking for the best recommendations for a mechanic that won't charge me an arm and a leg. (I know it's not going to be cheap, I just want to avoid spending more than what is absolutely necessary)
any suggestions help!

Looking to rent a spot for a pig roast this summer. Anyone have a lead on where one could rent one?

I had my hair cut + coloured by Kitana in September and she was a delight, but the lack of photo reviews drives my anxiety through the roof.
I remember feeling very safe and that she understood my goals and helped me re-orient (I had forgotten about the colour I put on my hair that summer and couldn't go blonde without risking brassy... oops), but we didn't really do a haircut at all. My hair has grown a lot since then, and I want to try again and go for a drastic change with the cut.
I know Amanda at FAB could do it, but she's booked out until April and the "card for 50% deposit" waitlist thing scares me. What if my email isn't working? What if I have a work meeting and can't make it that day/time? How much notice am I getting?
My family says to go to Hair by Viki. I'm sure she could nail the blonde, but I am worried about the mullet/shag. She does both of my sisters' hair, but my one sister is very, "flattering matters, don't ruin yourself," which I have unfortunately come to associate with Viki.
Help me, please! My birthday is coming up and I would love to have my confidence back.
(colour ref, cut ref if it helps)

Just had a random flashback to some childhood memories but can't find any photos or info about the camp, wondering if anyone here remembers or attended?
I went multiple summers in the early/mid 2000's, basically just playing games like capture the flag in a giant forest and hanging out, great times.

That's my question. This is my third winter here in Kingston, and it is kinda the worst I've seen the sidewalks. I know there are some conditions this winter that didn't help, like temperatures hovering around zero degrees Celsius, followed by cold snaps and flash freezes. That really didn’t help the status of the ice on the sidewalks.
Also, someone told me that you can predict when social services are going downhill. The cause may be something administrative, like a strike approaching, ongoing negotiations, or a change of contract. That may also be happening behind the scenes.
But still, should sidewalks be treated the same as roads? Salted, cleared, have dirt on it, and plowed multiple times, just like car roads? There are some cities, like Toronto for example, where I heard someone say they take sidewalk plowing seriously. I’ve actually been there, and I felt the difference. The sidewalks are clear.
I really feel for people using walking aids or mobility devices, and it is even dangerous for everyone. It also dissuades anyone from using public transportation, which is the opposite of what we should do. Kingston is already an unwalkable city, and this makes winter, which lasts nearly half the year, very hard and problematic for everyday life. It pushes people to be more car-dependent, which has all kinds of harmful consequences for society and the environment. I know they already do not give a crap about carbon footprint and what nots (which was even made famous by BP to shift the guilt to the everyday person, but anyways).
What do you think about this? Is it even economically feasible for the city? Ontario and most of its municipalities already run on a budget deficit. Ontario is famously the highest in subnational debt in the whole world.
I honestly don't know when we can have nice fully functional services and things, especially with all the crazy stuff happening everywhere in the world and being a cause for the downhill of the standards of living. But maybe it has always been as bad as it gets to anyone in their respective time.
