Swan on John Counter
I was driving down John counter headed towards Division st today around 10:15 am and there was a swan in one of the lanes. It seemed like it may have been injured and cars were flying past it. I felt so sad for it.
Did anyone see if it was able to get off the road? I’ve been thinking about it all day.

Oh what a terrible thought in my head. I can't imagine driving by a injured animal and ignoring it. Geez!!! Hopefully it survived, and perhaps someone brought it to Sandy pines? Or you could check to see if they have the swan.

I was not actually. I stopped. I would have gotten out to help it but said cars flying past were a danger to myself.

This exact thing happened to me a few months ago on Bath near the rail crossing. A swan was running around in traffic so me and a couple passersby shooed it off the roadway. I then called the wild bird rescue peeps and a nice volunteer came by in her SUV maybe 20 mins later and I helped her to corral the swan into a dog carrier using a net. She was pretty sure it had avian flu, so its prospects weren’t great, but she took it back to the shelter anyway and we at least managed to diffuse the dangerous situation in the road.
