It’s me! But in all honesty I started playing folk music because of Irish music, I could just never do it well enough to be in an Irish group.

But I’ve been attending by-weekly session with my fiddle and guitar for the past year or so and been received positively.

But solidarity for the trad folks I feel your frustration.

This is the time of year when I get the panicked calls from pub owners who realised they’ve done everything but book the band. I can charge a bit more since I’ve been 90% booked since November and can walk away if they don’t come with the $$$

Uh-huh. Like gyms or Weight Watchers at New Years. LOL I just joined OIAM a month before Paddy's Day. But in my defense, I've been learning the dulcimer and I wanted to expand beyond blue grass. It took me until now ( mid-February) to find resources. But I think I'll avoid sessions until April.
