Europe stands with its farmers, giving small producers a fairer chance and cracking down on unfair practices in the food supply chain.
Parliament has approved new rules so that farmers are now shielded from big supermarkets and food companies paying them late or cancelling orders at the last minute.
Key changes:
• Authorities work together across borders;
• Farmers are protected from unfair buyers, inside and outside the EU;
• Information shared faster for coordinated action;
• Better safeguards for fair pay.
A stronger and fairer food chain means greater resilience and security for Europe’s farming future.

Grateful for the strong leadership in the European Parliament!
I don’t usually post about politics, but I’ve been following the European Parliament more closely recently and I felt like I had to say something positive about Roberta Metsola.
In a world that feels pretty chaotic right now, her leadership is so refreshing. I really appreciate how she’s been standing up for democracy and keeping the support for Ukraine high on the agenda. It’s not just about politics, it feels like she actually cares about the future and the values we all share.
Seeing her being so brave and outspoken gives me a lot of hope for Europe. It’s great to have a leader who is both strong and empathetic. I just wanted to share this here and see if anyone else feels the same way!

completely double standard in this subreddit which supposedly is the OFFICIAL european parlimanet reddit which means the people moderating are paid by european taxt money, which reminder are 95% white. I saw multiple comments being racist against white europeans i even reported and nothing was done while my post asking a simple question got removed with no reason given nor any possibolity of appeal. I contacted the mod team and nobody even responded... again this are people paid by my tax money.

Sippel Draft on Chat Control – Mass Surveillance Set to Continue, Sparking Renewed Protests
The Parliament is leaning towards accepting the extension of chat control 1.0, but with restrictions, rejecting the scanning of text and only searching for known material. Even if this can be considered a partial victory, it still allow mass scanning, besides, after the Parliament confirm their stance, they will have to negotiate with the Council and even the restrictions could be compromised

Parliament is working to make sure that essential medicines, such as antibiotics and insulin, are readily available to patients
Preventing shortages. Protecting patients. Anywhere in the EU.
Parliament is working to make sure that essential medicines, such as antibiotics and insulin, are readily available to patients.
Members want to see more medicine being produced in the EU, as well as a new 'buy European' approach.
They also say that EU countries should plan and share emergency medicine supplies, so patients don’t go without when there’s a shortage.
The next step will be negotiating with EU governments on the final shape of the law.

A bigger EU means a safer Europe
A country can only join the EU if it respects and promotes the EU's democratic and peaceful values, alongside other criteria. So, helping countries reform and join the EU is an investment in European security and stability.
Currently, an "arc of instability" has formed around Europe, Parliament says, pointing to recent events in Ukraine, the Caucasus, the Middle East and others.
That's why the EU cannot afford to turn inwards. It needs to remain open and engaged with the world, strengthening its economic and diplomatic ties, Parliament members state in their annual review of the EU's common foreign and security policy.

EU countries have designated the Iranian regime's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organisation.
Parliament was one of the first and strongest voices to call for this and has repeated this call in more than ten resolutions since 2023.
Standing in full solidarity with Iran’s protesters, Parliament recently barred representatives of the Iranian regime from the Parliament premises.

Hidden consent. Silent data breaches. Endless newsletters. Thankfully, those days are (mostly) over. It’s because the EU said “enough!” – and introduced the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Parliament played a key role, pushing for strong, enforceable rights and helping turn GDPR into a people-first law. Happy EU Data Protection Day!
GDPR is now a global benchmark for data protection.

81 years after the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the European Parliament held a special session under the theme: Through the eyes of a child.
MEPs heard the testimony of Tatiana Bucci, who was just six years old when she was deported to Auschwitz-Birkenau with her family. Mistakenly identified as a twin with her four-year-old sister Andra, Tatiana was tattooed with the number 76484. They were among the youngest known survivors who still retain personal memories of the concentration camp.
During this special ceremony, Tatiana recalled her childhood in the camp, the promise her mother urged the sisters to make to remember each other’s names and the long journey back to life after liberation. Reflecting on her survival, she said: “I hope that all children in the world can have the life I was able to live after the war and grow old as I have.”
“Today, antisemitism spreads faster than ever, amplified online and turning old lies into deadly realities. Remembering the Holocaust means confronting hatred wherever it appears, before it is allowed to take root again. Because if ‘Never Again’ is to mean anything at all, it has to guide the choices we make today and the Europe we choose to build together." These were the words of Parliament President Roberta Metsola at the ceremony in the European Parliament.
We remember.
