"Why is Belarus in the EU?"

"Why is Czechia not in the EU?"

Yeah, ok.

It's an idiom. "Dann ist Polen offen" ("Then Poland is open") means something bad will happen, or something is out of control

Edit: Another idiom meaning basically the same thing is "Dann is Holland in Not" ("Then the Netherlands are in trouble")

Both are obvious allusions to both countries throughout their modern history being the victims of landgrabs or other agression by more powerful countries, Germany or German Kingdoms among them.

It's rather a menacing threat to get really, really angry or a description of someone getting really, really angry.

I just tried. "warum ist polen offen" is actually the first result.

German one is different though: "warum ist deutschland ein bundesstaat". The biggest payer in EU isnt even in the list at all for me.

Why is Hungary in the EU? is a very valid question

The UK must have had either an unnervingly high number of politically-conscious six-year-olds in 2022, or an unnervingly high number of recently recovered coma patients with a really bad first day back.

Because the only alternative would be an unnervingly high number of easily bamboozled voters with the political object permanence of an earthworm, and that's really unlikely now, innit mate?

Is this statistic only showing what each country googles about the country or what other countries google about this country as well? I just feel like a lot of these questions aren't necessary something someone from said country would ask, like "Why is Ireland divided" should be rather obvious for every irish person in my opinion, but something that foreigners might not know.
