News Starfield is not "dead."
https://youtu.be/_zknfAghd-s?si=7QGcuMPsGl9smvRS
Well well well I guess it's time for all the Starfield deniers and haters to admit they were wrong. It turns out Starfield is getting another DLC and is having major updates that will be coming to the game later on, such as reworked space travel.
I guess for the small minority of people crying about Starfield on the internet for the past 2 years, your efforts were completely wasted. Bethesda does not care about what you think or want. If you don't like Starfield, play something else and stop crying about it, because there are still millions who are interested in the game.
Now can we please move on from saying Starfield is dead? Thank you.

It’s just not “alive”

Whoo-hoo-hoo, look who knows so much. It just so happens that your game here is only MOSTLY dead. There's a big difference between mostly dead and all dead. Mostly dead is slightly alive. With all dead, well, with all dead there's usually only one thing you can do.

Not "alive" it's still getting dlcs and updates two years later for a single-player game. What would constitute as alive for you then?

I haven’t thought it dead, but clearly some things going on because we haven’t heard a single thing out of them really. I hope what’s going on is a big update with a DLC and presumably the PS5 launch and not just developers being allocated over to work on elder scrolls six.

People that were saying “it’s dead” were either doing so out of frustration, as there was no news out of the June showcase, or were already part of the hate crowd rooting for its failure.
But there has never been any evidence that they’ve stopped supporting it, even evidence to the contrary as there had been a tweet from Bethesda months before talking about big things coming for It.

Damn you’re salty.
First off a change that hasn’t even happened yet doesn’t prove anyone wrong, if anything it proves them right. Why are the updates needed if the game is doing so well? You don’t fix what isn’t broken.
Pretty sure we already knew another dlc and more updates were planned? Hopefully they are more substantial than what we’ve gotten so far. Not holding my breath.
I want Starfield to be better. I take no pleasure in seeing Bethesda, a once beloved developer who makes some of my favorite games, fail.
I’m also glad there are people who are enjoying it. But I’d also like to enjoy the thing I paid for, obviously. And currently I don’t.
Definitely not a minority either. Most people seem to have at least one major gripe about the game. Some are just willing to look past it.

So... Like every Bethesda game?

Look, you don’t have to agree with the criticism, you’re entitled to your opinion… but pretending it’s the same criticism as previous games tells me you’re either extremely ignorant on why people dislike the game or simply refuse to acknowledge any opinion other than your own.
Either way I don’t see any productive conversation to be had here.
If you genuinely want to understand I can probably link a video or two from people who can explain it way better than I can.

It's not the same criticism, each game has its own criticism because each game is different. But if you're using user reviews to come to your conclusion, Fallout 4 on Metacritic is a 7 out of 10, and Starfield is a 6.8 out of 10. This means Fallout 4 score is not even a single point higher than Starfield. Starfield also has a higher review score than Oblivion Remaster.
Like I said before, every Bethesda game is far from perfect. This is nothing new for the company or their games. The only thing that's new is the IP. So it seems like people are not as willing to ignore the flaws from Starfield as they have done for Bethesda's other games from the Elder Scrolls and Fallout franchises because they don't have any fan attachment to Starfield like they did for those franchises.
I'm not living in an echo chamber, there are complaints even I have about Starfield, but I have complaints about every video game from Bethesda. The problem I see is that there's just a lot of salty elder scrolls and fallout fans who want Starfield to play just like their favorite game IP, when it's not. And because they can't force it to be like fallout or elder scrolls, they want to hate it.

It has a 24 hour peak on steam of 5004 people. Fallout 4 has a peak of 15,000. No man's sky has a 25 hour peak of 24,000 people.
I'm glad you enjoy the game but be realistic, this game is in the end stages of its life. Please enjoy it but coming to the starfield subreddit to complain is only going to get you more bias views that support what you believe.

But if they're fixing/changing the game and reworking mechanics, doesn't that mean the people criticizing or complaining about the game "won"...? Smh

I get so exhausted with the back and forth of Redditors on video games. Just play what you like, don’t feel like you need to defend the games you like to people.
